Mr. Abdelgelil is an Analyst at ACERTAS and a fellow at TransResearch Consortium.. He applies social network analysis, natural language processing and machine learning to study and forecast behavioral uncertainty, social values, and political outcomes.

Prior to joining ACERTAS, Mr. Abdelgelil taught comparative politics and methods at Cairo University and is a member of the UC Berkeley Initiative for Research Transparency. He is a former United Nations Alliance of Civilizations fellow, and a former Shafik Gabr Foundation fellow.

Mr. Abdelgelil completed his undergraduate degree in political science and public policy at Cairo University, and a Joint Master’s degree at both the American University in Cairo and Tübingen University. He is currently pursuing a PhD at Claremont Graduate University focusing on Computational Analytics and Econometric modelling.
